UFC on FOX5 "Henderson Vs Diaz": Preview & Prediction

Fight fans it is a big fight week once again for both Boxing & MMA! The fourth chapter to the great rivalry between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez takes place this Saturday Dec. 8 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas but here we will focus on UFC as UFC is all geared up to host ufc on fox5 from Seattle & boy this looks to be the most entertaining and stacked card since signing with Fox. As per me this is the best main card of this year. The four fight main card features three must see bouts no one would complain if these three fights had headlined a pay per view card.

Main Event :- Henderson Vs Diaz

UFC.com
Benson Henderson will attempt to defend  his lightweight title for the second time in the UFC while Nate Diaz attempts to become the fourth The Ultimate Fighter contestant to win a UFC championship.
Henderson is the most successful WEC fighter in the UFC, and he remains undefeated in UFC. Diaz on the other hand has been unstoppable ever since he rejoined the lightweight ranks piling up wins against Takanori Gomi, Donald Cerrone and Jim Miller, and making it look easy.
Diaz is the better striker, but Henderson has been able to out-wrestle everyone he’s faced in the UFC. However, Nate is also known for his slick submissions.
It could be a close fight, but given the fact Henderson hasn’t finished an opponent in the UFC — which means their fight can go the distance – Nate will have 5 rounds to lock a submission.
Prediction: Diaz wins via submission.

Maurício “Shogun” Rua vs. Alexander Gustafsson

UFC.com

Gustafsson seems to be the next big thing in the UFC’s light-heavyweight division, and he’ll try to take a step closer to the 205-pound title when he faces Rua at UFC on Fox 5. Rua is 2-2 in his last four fights Shogun is a dangerous striker, and he’s arguably better than Gustafsson on the ground whereas Gustafsson has the reach and speed to cause problems for a seemingly aging fighter like Rua. If he can use that reach to avoid Rua’s clinch, Gustafsson could make a huge move toward the first title shot of his UFC career.
Prediction: Gustafsson defeats Rua by knockout.
  BJ Penn vs. Rory MacDonald
UFC.com

MacDonald is clearly one of the most promising rising stars in the UFC’s welterweight division, but he’ll be in for a serious test when he faces BJ at UFC on Fox 5. Even though Penn has lost three of his last five fights, he’s still a force to be reckoned with when he’s committed to fighting and in shape. Penn claims he’s fully focused on his fight against MacDonald, It has been more than one year since B.J. Penn last stepped into the Octagon, and that’s a long layoff for a fighter who has long had issues with motivation and conditioning.
All reports from Penn’s camp indicate that the former lightweight champion is in top form. Even if that is the case, he will still have trouble dealing with the size of a large welterweight like Rory MacDonald. MacDonald will undoubtedly attempt to employ a similar game plan to the one that teammate Georges St-Pierre used against Penn. The Canadian should be able to out-muscle Penn frequently and take this fight to the ground, where his top control will earn him significant separation on the scorecards.
Prediction: MacDonald defeats Penn by decision.
Mike Swick vs. Matt Brown
UFC.com
Swick showed a lot of heart during his last outing against DaMarques Johnson, knocking out the latter during the second round after getting dominated in the first. It was the first time Mike stepped inside the Octagon in over two years, so I’ll attribute his poor first round performance to Octagon-rust. Brown on the other hand is currently on a three-fight win streak, and “The immortal” is always game come fight time. Brown’s past four losses have come via second-round submission, so expect Swick to take this fight to the ground as much as possible. It won’t be easy, but it’ll happen.
Prediction: Swick wins via submission.
Undercard:
Mike Easton defeats Raphael Assunção
Dennis Siver defeats Nam Phan
Joe Proctor defeats Ramsey Nijem
Jeremy Stephens defeats Yves Edwards
Daron Cruickshank defeats Henry Martinez
Scott Jorgensen defeats John Albert
Tim Means defeats Abel Trujillo
None of these fighters will have an easy task on Saturday night, but it will be interesting to see which one(s) can take the next step toward realizing the dream of every fighter that steps into the Octagon, capturing a UFC title.
